Private Label Gummy Launch Checklist (EU)

Most first-time gummy launches lose 4–8 weeks to predictable, avoidable mistakes. This is the eleven-step checklist we wish every new private label brand had on day one.
- Define the SKU positioning before the formula
- Confirm target market(s) early — EU labelling differs from UK and US
- Pick a category-leading active list, not a wishlist
- Lock the EU permitted claims you will use on pack
- Choose pectin vs gelatin (we default to pectin)
- Choose packaging — HDPE jar vs doypack vs blister
- Brief the artwork team with the dieline early
- Confirm MOQ tier (1000 / 2500 / 5000+)
- Schedule lab testing in parallel with production
- Plan customs and EU duty pre-clearance
- Build a launch stock buffer — we recommend 20% of month-1 forecast
